I went to LAN 06.2 as my squirrel year and Im a 2 year tragedy so my next year will be my last (nooo)

I took Ancient Greek 1 with a bunch of cool people and I was in Atlee2!

My passionfruit speech was basically what Im saying here cause its so much easier to sum it up.

Lots of inside jokes, I <3 cloudwatching forever and ever. Umm, moroccan man slaves radiating sunlight, christ and rachel naked with a cow, tickling christ (ahh so much fun, he squeaks!), "hey frank", random fun memories.

I had an amazing class with Dr. Uffy and George (gayorg <3) My hall was basically the dream hall, perfect in every way, and my roommate rocked sooo much.

Uhh...I had an incredible year. I had an entire journal about my trip, I'll probably end up writing it all up eventually, but for now, I'll not.

07.2 Passionfruit Speech

Uhm, hi guys. So you know I was perfectly fine up to that one moment so now I’m kind of a mess. Jeff Sachs I hate you. I hate you. Oh wait! Jeff! Somewhere on my butt.., nevermind. Uhm.

Yea it says bitchface.

Uhm, so, I’m a nomore, clearly. And I also as everyone else did try to write a speech but you know failed miserably as everyone who’s not a nomore will soon learn you can’t do it, it just doesn’t work.

Uhm, I don’t know why but for some reason like as I was sitting right there in that little crack where like Nixxi and Iggie currently are there’s a bunch of ants just like running up and down the crevasse and it’s really distracting. But I saw this one ant that was just carrying this other what I think was a dead ant like on its back and it sounds really depressing. Uhm, I dunno, I was just kind of looking at the ant crawling along and I was like well in a way that’s kind of like CTY, like you know, dead ants.

And uhm, I guess its just because you know like at CTY there’s always somebody else who has your back no matter what you believe in. Like you can believe in something really stupid like wherever Acid is I know you’ve got your weird religion which has a backing for SOME reason and its like stuff like that. I haven’t learned it but I’m sure it’s amazing. It’s like stuff like that you can just make up a religion or like Kib and groovism wherever you are as well from last year, or this year, I really don’t know.

And everything you do you will always have people to support you and that’s something incredible that you don’t find anywhere else, like this isn’t something that happens normally.

And uhm, now I don’t remember what I was going to say! Basically, I love you all, I’ve had amazing memories. Uhm, oh yea, one of them was, incase you didn’t know, up to this year I was a kiss-virgin, so that’s one thing that changed at CTY which I’m pretty happy about, uhm.

Did you guys know they made orange tea? Haha, yea, I know, the ants are taking over.

So, I don’t really know what else to say, Oh! Uhm, I’m not exactly sure how I’m doing this or even what I’m doing in a way, but uhm, last night, wow I was going to say last year, last night, if anybody saw me at the dance I was quite shiny. Uhm, I was wearing a duct tape dress which is right there which I would like to actually pass on because I have nothing to do with it and I feel like it would be put to much better use here than anywhere else cause its not like I’m going to wear a duct-tape dress to school or anything.

So uhm, the person that I’m giving it to is someone who I do honestly believe deserves something and I do think it will fit them as well which is most peoples comment when I ask them. I think they deserve something and I think they’re amazing people and they’ve made my life so much better, uhm, it started with this one time at, uhm. I met them at a harry potter discussion group and it was the only thing that got everybody in that entire room standing up and screaming out of everything that was told including stupid rumors about dumbledore, I’m not saying any spoilers or anything no worries.

Uhm, so the person that I’m going to be giving my duct tape dress to is, uhm, Ellie Kladky. I love you.

It doesn’t have any form of names on it yet or whatever but I’ll do that later. And you might need to fix it up a bit but it’ll get the point across.

I support that idea, if anyone wants her to get naked and put on the dress, good idea!

I can’t really think of anything else to say other than I love you all and this really has been like, I guess, a changing experience, and uhm, Jeff Sachs, I hate you.

And uhm, I love CTY and I love the passionfruit.

CTY 2007 Journal

I kept this journal during Philomind B (Lancaster 2007, 2nd session). Every night after lights out I would write what happened that day. Realize that I'm going to cut out 1/2 of whats actually in the journal for reasons of my own privacy or others. *All spelling mistakes and grammatical mistakes are what I wrote in the journal (for example layed instead of laid), and I realize I use the word "So" and "Then" quite a lot*

My Last First Day; Sunday July 15, 2007

So today was (sadly)my last first day ='(. Yea, so I woke up at like 9am, then took my stuff downstairs, said bye to mom and went to dads. I said bye to Knopka, dani, vicky, and zayatz, and we went on our merry way. So drove for 2 1/2 hours to get to Lancaster, and along the way we realized that we forgot my duct tape dress. Oh well ;\, dad'll mail it to me! So we get to registration and we see my old Greek teacher and she remembered my name =D. My I lose Moo finger job shirt was a hit =D. So we register and see people and hug and stuff and we talked to a funny academic counsler (later learned his name was Jesse, get to that soon...ish). So I get to my room (SSchnader16; basement) and learn my roommate is named Erika and she already unpacked. So I then see people I know (like Izzy and emily whose room is next to mine and briana whose room is next to theirs). So then we see ellie and I give her a hug and it was fun.

Then we (me + dad) go eat a bit and get books ($144!) And I find more people like laney and yea. So we go back to the dorm where I really meet Erika (I saw her in the caf but it was like "Hi I'm your roommate") So she's small, thin, blond frizzy-ish hair. She seems nice but also pretty innocent. She's a 16 y/o 2 year tragedy like me. She likes HP and I think we'll get along fine =D. So dad leaves, and I go meet eli and ellie and mucho other people to eat eli's bday cake in his room. So we go and eat cake with our ID cards. So then hall meeting, our RA is Stacey, and our hall is basically split into my group (inc. erika) and another 4 person group. Oh, and ellie transfered to our hall although she's still in Philomind A.

Oh, I forgot the pie bit. So Rachel owed me a pie from me getting her a bday present. So she gave it to me while I was in the caf w/dad and its this gorgeous apple pie (sitting on hte AC being refridgerated now) and I saw Max Wang too and tons of others and I plan on being an alcover this year. I ended up giving rachel 3 goodbye hugs after cake at eli's. Oh, forgot to mention, no squirrels in our hall. So right, after hall meeting we went on a tour of campus and we were being pretty loud but I mean we all knew where the mailbox was, we didn't need to be here. Then after the tour we were really thirsty so we were like who wants to go to the caf? say "I", ok lets go, and Stacey screamed "Stop! Go back to the hall NOW! Until dinner!" So we went back quietly, and yea, we ended up leaving our room in like 10 min to go to izzy's/emily's room. BTW I was bringing erika w/me everywhere cause shes cool.

So dinner, we sat together, then camp meeting in the ASFC (assfuck) where we "met" our new camp supervisor who seemed super cool. Also this was when we learned Jesse's name. Long story short, me and ellie picked the same day (July 21, harry potter 7 day) and lost frank $80 =D. Then we leave, and go w/our instructor to take a "qualifying" exam. Kinda just to see where we were knowledge wise, knew nothing but hey thats ok. Our professor's name is Mark Uffelman and TA is George. They both seem really fun =D. So we get to the quad and I talk to laney and cedilla and everyone, it was fun being known. I told everyone to wear HP to friday dance (oh and before erika was like I thikn theres an HP dance on friday and I said heh, thats funny, I organized it on facebook and she said I dont even have a facebook so my message got around!) So then we played silent football and I got Kib to play, I knew him last year as Iced tea man, because he always had a huge jug of it. He looks like heath ledger in 10 things I hate about you, and I told him its a good thing cause hes cute in that movie :P. Then we went to dorms, did a meeting, signed up for activities (Im doing acting improv and this nomore only CTY tradition discussion thing [really excited]) and then bed. Night!

My Last Real First Day; Monday July 16, 2007

Wake up at 7:15, get up at 7:30, breakfast at 7:45. Then we played with bubbles outside. God this seems like such a long time ago! Then we went to class! (refer to classroom materials). Mark defined different types philosophy and we played handman for the word knowledge. We also talked about the pixies, and Vin and Noelle switched nametags so Mark called Vin Noelle all the time and Izzy was like "Wait, did you guys switch names?" and Vin was like (sarcastically) "no". So Izzy said "haha I thought our teacher was retarded or something!" Then we read Nietzche and Plato and did logic puzzles. Dave was amazing at them. And me and will debated on the existence of peach pie and Hobbes/Locke.

Then we went to lunch (ate in alcove, yay) and after we attempted a game of silent football but a guy went into the middle (John) and instead of pushing him out, some people attacked him (jihad gone wrong) and Frank Wang was like "NO! Disband!" So back to class time! Then we read more Plato and more logic. Then activities! So AI was funny, but not amazing. So for 2nd activity, we talked to the site director. He believes in traditions. He said he'll pay for all passionfruit drinks and is much more lax on rules (like raving and PDA rules). They got stuff for ASFC dances (For when it rains or otherwise). They got like discoballs, and club lights and other stuff that I just don't remember.

Then after that, we ate dinner and that failed silent football game was actually now (oops) and we had a fake grass orgy. So we just layed down on the grass in rows not touched, and Frank Wang came over and did a thumbs up and said good job =D. Then bugs were eating us so we went to atleedubbs3. So it was remodelled and it looks like a 1960s coca cola bar. It has neon lights, red paint, cool couches and chairs and booths and posters and mirrors and a magic coca cola machine. So I think Max Wang asked if the machine worked so I just clicked any button and out popped a diet coke can and 40 cents and I put nothing in, it was magically.

Then to study hall. So we had to read all 76 pages of "Can Animals and Machines Be Persons?" I was on 28 at half time and 59 at end. Oh well. So thats ok.

Then quad. Umm there was human bingo; I was used as one of the spots(?) for talking to the site director and the RA was like (to make sure we werent lying) grilling us about it. Like she asked a bilingual kid to say something in the other language and me "What did you talk about?" and so I said "Umm..uhhhm...I was with the nomore talk..." and then she became super nice again. Ok whatever.

Then we went to the hall, had a meeting, watched Izzy and emily try to rearrange furniture, and bed. Oh, and I called Julie and said happy birthday and yea =D. Night!

My Super Awkward Day; Tuesday July 17, 2007

So yea, um...Right! Morning wake up take pie. Breakfast give pie to hall and eat with fingers. Take pie outside and share. Give pie to George (our TA) w/izzy sad face and me saying 'We worked on it all night and we left it in noelle and briana's room, and we dont know what happennnneddd!" and then with noelle popping up with pie in her mouth. George was like 'I think you ate it", 'why would we eat something we made for you!' and he took it and gave it to acid who gave it to someone else. Then we did stuff I don't remember (notes), then lunch, then more class with a feminism debate, then AI which sucked a bit. Then yoga! So the kid Gavin from online (like Colin's friend) and so he was funny and cute and we flirted I guess.

Then we left to dinner, then we (jeff cedilla laney max and others) went to atlee3. Then to study hall to read evil descartes which was dull and boring and repetitive and deathly and gross. So now! Quad time. *Im skipping a lot here, so haha for you! Some people do know the story that happens here, and they know why Im skipping it.*

Halloween!; Wednesday July 18, 2007

Wake up, figure out what to wear, end up being a fairy (wings, white tank, jeans). Oh right, last night me and erika talked until ~12am. Yea, she was awesomely nice =D. Izzy was a catholic school girl, briana super jew, erika post card, eli and noelle mime like dresden doll songs. Then class (notes), lunch where I ate a tiny slice of pizza (and I had a pear for breakfast cause I keep feeling like I'm gonna throw up :\), and went outside.

Oh, and after breakfast we played silent football where noelle (hallucination) took off laney's bra (laney was a heidi stripper), and jeff (mr. dictator) was like all players must raise both hands above their head or recieve 5 immediate pennance points. So noelle jumped on laney's lap so we couldnt see anything. Back to class after lunch (oh and I can finally open my mailbox [and if I didn't say it before, a few days ago, Monday? tuesday?, my glowbracelets came] but I didnt have mail :( ).

Then dinner and a game of never have I ever (both me and jeff had 6 points and I've never kissed anyone :P). Whatever, then study hall where on the way we tried to blend in w/ the other classes but a TA was like wait, whose your TA? And we ignored her and she said "thanks for ignoring me" so I turned around (w/chelsea) and said "his name is George and we think 1/2 the class left already so we're trying to catch up" and she was just like "oh, ok, sorry" it was beautiful. Then we read more descartes stuff. Oh and we argued w/poof (chris) on the fact that religion =/= culture, b/c he thought that jew was religion only, not culture and it was impossible. and dave showed us the hitler rap which is like "I'm going to scindlers party and Im on the A list" and "I raise my left hand and party people go Heillll", it was pretty funny. Oh and blammo starts tomorrow morning, my target is sarah hackney. shes an alcover. I really hope I stay in =\. Oh well. I'm super tired.

PS forgot to mention, during AI we did party quirks and I was Jeff Sachs so I put my hair in my tank top and was explaining how to play, like, park bench, and the guy was like "Are you a control freak?" so I sorta looked at jeff and half laughed and like 2 game explanations later he said "ohh, you're jeff!"

My First Taste of Canon in 4 Months; Thursday July 19, 2007

Wake up, go to nurse b/c I've felt like I was gonna throw up for the past 4 days. She said it was probably a mix of Shnaids (Schnader disease from mold in air conditioner) and change of food, so she gave me saltines and sprite and told me to go w/bland not greasy foods. So then breakfast of saltines+apple+sprite, then a functional game of silent football, 2 even b/c in the first 5 min 1 kid shroedumed a shrug (AHH!).

Then class, lunch (which for some reason I remmeber none of). Then more class, then activities! It rained today so I used my kimono (bathrobe thursday) to keep me semidry while running to AI@kauffman. So we're there (sitting) and I'm talking to izzy and Im like itd really suck if someone I knew was stalking me...and then I looked at will and was like "Will, are you stalking me?" and he said this sketchy "no..." so I was like "oh my god you ARE stalking me!" and he said something like "why should I lie if you already know, so who told you? was it acid?" and Im there 1/2 in shock and I'm just like "I guessed!" and then he was like you're gonna drop it, I'm gonna blammo you, why are you even trying you're gonna get out! and I'm like Ahhh! shut up! Yea.

Then I went to another talk w/Brian our super cool site director (That or watch a movie) and it was just like the last one, not much new. Oh and I didnt mention it before, for the past 2 days, max (wang) has been collecting the signatures of all 459 CTYers (he's still missing 19) for consent to be videotaped/photographed. Then turns out it was a double period so I missed yoga and went to dinner. So there I was walking to the alcove and saw the "Dinner w/your academic counslers!" which had a table cloth and fake flowers and candles and such, it was hilarious. So when I passed there was 1 kid, then I made 1/2 the alcove go. It was great =D. Then we went to atlee dubbs 3, and watched people make out and sang show tunes (started w/Rent - no day but today b/c me and jeff and cedilla = nomores).

Then study hall, then quad where we danced to CTY songs like CTY shuffle, tunaktunaktun, oh l'amour, etc and I did it w/eliz who's 13 and a squirrel, I thought she was like 15 and a 3 year or something! So yea, and I saved Acid by telling him that if ANY of the spoon is missing then he can be blammo'd b/c he had a chip in his, so he got a new one. Then back here where like 3/4 of us are sick. And I texted laney (while writing) that we can't do the alcove meeting to decide american pie characters after dinner b/c mandatory fun. She was like SHIT!

PS tomorrows harry potter! and first dance; and sarah wont drop her spoon! my entry for tomorrow will be SO long

PPS frank wang set off the fire extinguisher in atlee3 by bumping into it and having all kids there be moved down. gavin blamed frank for making him sleep w/ a man :P

~First realize how little I want to write this entry, so a good deal of it will be missing, as will Saturday's

Wake up, eat, class, lunch. Gavin asks me to dance during stairway. Fastforward to the mandatory fun! We did dutch auction although we had ~4 objects in our pillowcase (~15 after nixxi dropped her stuff in it) and we didn't even have a runner. So I wear my ripped/patched up jeans w/the weird sisters shirt. So then we get thrown together for Nightswimming, random stuff gets said *skipping it*, and we kiss (within PDA limits). So then people'd come up to me asking like "So are you guys going out?" to which I'd say I dunno. And I learned that Eli was ok with it which was good b/c I was nervous about them 2. So yea, then more dance, afterdance, and me and ellie and lexi run to schnader, grab our bags and blankets and stuff (and elmo). So we meet eli and lexi at thomas (oh and quad after lights out is spooky, everyone was GONE although 5 minutes ago it was packed with "CTY you have a nice butt!"-ers.

So we're in Mrs. Kladky's car and we get bracelets (silver; 2nd group) and 4 raffle tickets (later learned to be first 7 people in store to get the book and 1 for a big framed person signed by HP illustrator [even later learned that the woman who won was planning on selling it on eBay]). So while in there, we meet other HPers and one of Ellie's friends and some commissioner (seemed sleazyish). Then while in line some guy started talking to us and asking questions like age, where we're from, and where we live now . I kicked ellie but said I meant to get eli. Oh and we sang Happy Birthday to Ellie at midnight and I gave her my present. This day follows over a lot w/ July 21.

Harry Potter!; Saturday, July 21, 2007

So we get our books and read. We got them at 1am, then read from 1 to 5, slept from 5 to 8, read from 8 to 9:45, and then we left to meet noelle, adena, kayla, and laney at a bagel place. I could barely talk (I whispered, I never knew before how people could be so quiet in acting improv, now I do) but it was still fun. Then we signed in, put our stuff in our rooms and read on the Quad. *No spoilers here* Acid asked me who died already so I told him X, Y and Z, but he thought I said A instead of Z but I didn't know that A died at all! Oh well, so I finished reading inside out SSchnader base lounge and Nixxi would occasionally walk in and me and laney would close our ears in safety. SO then I went outside to talk w/Cedilla Alexa Beans etc. So then me and gavin break off to go infront of the big tree (infront of marshall) and we 1/2 have the exclusive/not exclusive talk (we eventually decide to be exclusive, don't remember when though).

Then we split for dinner (although I do talk to him and Meghan Vu about why guys always have their hands in their pants =P). So then dance comes and I do w/green polkadot shirt and grey/black skirt. I attached my blammo spoon to one of those annoying strings for hangers. Then afterdance and during the walk back I found sarah hackney and blammo'd her (new target Iggie) and then I tried to write down both July 20 and July 21 (b/c I was at HP, couldn't journal) on the 21 night but instead its the 22nd and I'm in bed b/c its a sunday morning writing. Yay weekends =D.

Human Caviar; Sunday July 22, 2007

Wake up at ~9am, slowly get up, write past 2 days in journal. Then do laundry, yuck, laundry days. So then I ventured outside, ate brunch w/Gavin+Meghan+Lowell+Jeff+Cedilla+Max. Then to hall bondage #1 (duct tape RA to wall) which sucked but then hall bondage #2 (turkey hill/bagel shop) and then we went into emily/izzy's room and talked and then the rest of the hall came in and we traded numbers.

Then we went outside and had a decent silent football game w/Jeff being Mr.Dictator/Borat/Hier Dictator/the Queen/Killer Queen/Senor Dictator. Then some dinner, then I hung out outside w/emily+nixxi+lexi+ellie+joanna.

Then study hall w/Hillary Putnam and my coke addiction. Then quad, then hall meeting, change, etc, and text convo w/noelle and izzy (about pounding on their walls), laney, and gavin, oh and rachel. I <3 laney. right, bed, night!

Walking pneumonia?; Monday July 23, 2007

Wake up, breakfast. Then class, mailbox (briana got 2 packages, emily 1). Then lunch where we ate and after ellie felt really dead so she was laying (?) on me w/adam roush right next to us and I was like its ok, shes sick. Then we were talking about walking pneumonia and how a kid@passionfruit 1st session had it and that its transfered by liquid, so I see gavin and yell out 'Do you have walking pneumonia?" to which he said "I don't think so, I eat a lot of Vitamin C" (and then I turn around and roush was still there and I was like :\ oops, I thought you were gone :P).

Then class + noelle 1/2 dying and coughing up blood. SO far her, chelsea, zeke, dominique, and eliz have it, and the nurses do nothing b/c they don't believe them. So then talk w/brian, there were 4 of us. Me, Vin, Maddie and Kathy, so we had more jokes than anything else. Then AI which was ok, then dindin and me looking for laney for a new spoon and I dunno, everyone around me is just sick, well, ellie and laney (and the entire hall) are :\. Then after giving noelle my red knitted scarf we went to study hall where we read; made helen keller/woman jokes; and I went on facebook! It was exciting and I sent izzy (friend from home) a message saying CALL ME! (a little more elaborate but you get the point).

Then quad where we were chilling by the big tree, as was another couple, and an RA comes up and does the 2 eye Im watching you sign at both couples, says I saw nothing, walks away and sits in a chair facing us, so we both (me+gavin+other 2) go and sit RIGHT infront of him. It was great =D.

Then hallmeeting then bed.

My Meditation Day; Tuesday July 24, 2007

wake up...to BLEGHBLEGHBLEGH! fire alarm. It was like death at 6:30 and we got inside ~6:40 and right as I'm off to bed again, we get hit w/another alarm and we're (I heard me, erika, izzy, emily at least) yelling from our rooms 'SCREW YOU! WE'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!' but turned out that they pressed the wrong button.

So back to bed, properly wake up, eat a banana in alcove (just that b/c my internal 'eat now' clock was screwed up b/c alarm) then class, no mail, lunch in corner, class, ucky AI, meditation where me and gavin looked at each others mp3s and stuff, it was scary, I was like 'I know what I'm going to listen to! VNV Nation!' and he was like 'are you serious? you know them?' and when I said yea he showed me that he was listening to Arena by VNV nation on his iPod AT THAT MOMENT. It was hilarious. So I relaxed and did nothing, it was great. I just drank up CTY on hartman green.

Oh, forgot. During afternoon session of class, we had to do word problems and I was in w/poof and dave and they were like you can only talk if you raise your hand and I SO wanted to flip his chair, but instead I slapped him on the back of his head and ignored them entirely (I can block people out to the point where I don't even realize I'm doing it :D).

So then after meditation, dinner, where I had issues finding a seat b/c THEY CLOSED THE ALCOVE (and that side side room) for kosherization and brian doesn't know when it'll be done and even if we'll be able to eat there when it IS done. Then we sat in atleedubbs2 and sang songs from the valcony to jeff (on ground) and it rocked. Oh and EB killed will+ben yesterday and shes been stalking me for a day w/o me knowing at ALL. Then studyhall where I 1/2 worked on my essay (but left break ~10 min early to work more) and quad where I played on roush's banjo, it rocked. Then a game of pingping, finished adding quotes (like women's rights, I <3 helen keller, and I <3 frank wang (crossedout) Stacey) to our yearbook page adn sleep.

Oh and I learned that RA's/instructors play manhunt after we're asleep ~11:15pm! Beddytime!

Alcove-B-Gone ='( R.I.P.; Wednesday July 25, 2007

Wake up, didn't eat breakfast in alcove BECAUSE IT DIED! =(. but I did hear a rumor that it'd be open for lunch. So then off to class and we have to write out (type) our essay and I took the nonfunctional computer (on purpose) but man did I regret it! Oh well, so write, then lunch, where the alcove remained closed and I almost cried =(.

Then class for ~30 min b/c we had a 30min firedrill and an hour of watching a cool cogpsych thing. It was about 1 person who can't see motion (only frames in her mind like a 4 sec. shutter speed), 1 who can't distingusih faces and another who can't distinguish objects. Then AI which was actually funny today (a new game called half life by sven, where you act out a scene in 60s, then same scene in 30, 15, 7, 3, and 1).

Then letter writing where I drew (see paper) and talked to Kib+ellie+emily+izzy about stuff like life and running away to live on mountains and it was amazing because I understood that I AM the grass and trees and bugs and people and hat I am everything and it was incredible. (later talked to my dad about it on last day and he said that thats what buddhists strive for in meditation, to sense the world without the use of their body, I was playing with the grass with my hand and somewhere in the back of my mind I could feel it as if I was the grass)

Then dinner (no alcove!). Then to attleedubbs3 to remain #1 on jeff's to kill list (because I tickle him =D) and iggie knows Im stalking her. Oh well. Then study hall where we watched 1/2 of 2001:A space odyssey (love it, esp. part in beginning where monkey finds bone+ attacks other monkey with it). Then during break Acid looked at my music and told me he'll get a list of what I should download and Dr. uffy said I'm 'unique' in that I have beliefs and yet I care about learning and I push the conversation in the right direction. It was like sweet!

And I listened to VNV nation so loud (20) that I couldn't hear anyone else talking, it rocked. Then quad, then bed.

Wake up, get dressed, breakfast (hot chocolate w/milk in microwave) then I sat outside w/eli+noelle+logan. So then class where we read the searle article (which says that nobody thinks that the human mind is a computer and all who do are stupid...bastard). and had the academic dean watch us. I also drew the classroom =D. Then lunch and more class disccusion on Searle.

Then activities but first I forgot my spoon and EB blammo'd me, but hey I got SO much further than will, top 9 :D (later learned that poof actually threw out my spoon that day, oh well). Then AI, not bad, and cloud watching. Then at dinner we had a memorial service for the alcove w/Jeff+will+someone else saying the jewish funeral song and all of us saying our goodbyes (recorded by Max wang). Then outside where I threw a water balloon at jeff (twice, didn't pop, ended up throwing it at the wall to splash on him and getting him barely wet.

Then studyhall where we finished 2001 space odyssey (i've never hated a computer, or pitied one, as much as I did for Hal) and during break we had a grass orgy and Dr. Uffy kept giving me these funny looks and I think he thinks Im a lesbian/bi :P.

Then during quad lexi and eli were near me and gavin and they started talking about school and me and lexi were like no, you're done. Then hall meeting,and I really want everyone to stop dying of the schnaid! Version 1 -> cold/sick, V2 -> coughing up blood, V3 -> throwing up (or according to max, v3 -> death, v4 -> skin leaving body, v5 -> throwing up) and noelles on v3 (my method) and i'm like :(.

The Forgotten Day; Friday July 27, 2007

Didn't write tonight down b/c sleepover. So I remember! Wake up, breakfast, class, no mail, lunch, class w/ an hour long break, then activity was field day where I almost died at dizzybats (10x around in a circle) and we got 0s on everything, it rocked.

Then I got ready for the dance. Dance theme was under the sea, I wore my brown skirt + green corset, it rocked. But it was in the ASFC =\. Still, we had lipsync and otter (squealer) won, but gavins japanese thing was hilarious. But yea, dance was great.

Then after dance (I screamed CTY you have a nice butt all the way from Assfuck to schnader) then sleepover in the love pit in emily/izzys room w/ellie too but I didn't sleep (Freezing, no room, etc) so I left ~3:40am to go to bed in my own room. NIGHT!

Oh and at the dance they cut off end of the world b/c running but it's better to run 1/2 the song than walk all of it, and we had a left shoe right hand protest. And Acid made me a music list!

2nd Saturday; Saturday July 28, 2007

Wake up ~9:30ish, search for wallet, not see it. So my wallets stolen and I'm like shit. As we're leaving the building I see site director Brian and I ask if theres anywhere I should report it too. He said I can get $20 from main office and we'll have to file a police report later (oh joy).

So I get my money and learn that AYP trips dont go to central market, so I plan on going to the 11:30 central market trip after the 10am AYP.

So we're walking, we get there, and oh! They don't open for 35 minutes! (open @11am) So we decide to go to farmers market (yay!). So we run in, I get peaches, peach tea (I found my tea man!)a cute omish roll for izzy which i MAY have to keep, and some mango italian ice for breakfast, then AYP (angry young + poor) where I got punky colour dye + red fishnets.

Then back where I filed the police report (told them I noticed it gone ~1 week ago but assumed it was under my stuff, gave description of stuff in it) and brian was like "I really want to find whoever is taking this stuff and beat them up, I didn['t know the other 8 but I know and like Yulia"

And then he suggested Gavin try a britney spears look. He was talking to the inspector like 'yea this girl's boyfriend is dressed up in a skirt and she is not going to look like this very much longer" (wore norm. clothes to AYP). Then I got my hair lightly highlighted red by Noelle to give it a mahogany look.

Then, to washout dye,and then I changed to real clothes, had dinner, and got ready for dance. Also sporatically between hair dyine on klien klunkel 3 and other stuff I watched practice on KK2. Then got ready for dance (I gave my green corset to laney for columbia; lowell riffraff; gavin frank; cedilla magenta; jeff criminololist), I wore my black chainmail-ish top + black/pink skirt.

I also fixed (and broke) 3/8 (300) of my glow bracelets and dropped the bag on the table after walking in (and singing hey juliet 2 dance in a row) there. They disappeared in like 3 min (rumor has it, from Adam, that some girl's mom sent her $30 of glow bracelets that the mom got at Michael's for $20 a dollar and she has more for the last dance).

I asked my hall to keep me out of it. I don't want to be related at ALL. Like 2/3 of the people there had them and it was amazing =D Me and meghan had to teach gavin how to walk like a girl, then dancing and stuff.

Rocky horror was amazing. Lowell was supper passionate and cedilla and laney really seductive and jeff was hilarious and beans and adena looked terrified and gavin was amazing (wore 4inch heels, chesleas's skirt, some corset top, fishnet top, laney's glittery fishnets, fake eyelashes and more makeup than I had).

Then more random rave songs (gavin did them in heels and fishnets and everything) and then after stairway ~10 couples in the middle did cmf (clandenstein makeout festival). The RAs didnt even notice, it was hilarious. So after a song and a half of making out, we did American pie.

So then after dance, most screaming whole way back. Then we had a 1/2 sleepover in the lovepit where emily, izzy, briana, ellie, and I watched Garden State (really weird but cute) on emily's laptop and then went back to our own rooms to sleep.

Hehe my fingers are all still red from my hair dye.

Rain Day; Sunday July 29, 2007

Wake up ~10am, laundry, brunch, where I had my first breakfast food (french toast) and then more laundry and I went to KK2 where a bunch of us had a quasi dance party (loud music, occasional dancing, rolling was w/eb, kib + juice). I also learned that juice and alexa got passionfruit empresses. Later we were playing silent football w/Adam (race lost, punishment was crossdressing the day AFTER 2nd sat =D today).

Beyond that, hall bondage was coffee shop + turkey hill (frozen hot chocolate, bagel w/scallion creamcheese, bought gum + 2 bags cheeze its). Then we talked (me emily izzy ellie noelle) about random stuff while I attached connectors to 400 of my 500 glow bracelets (didn't connect 100 incase box falls + they all break too early).

Then dinner where I talked to lowell about burningman and stuff. Then we went into KK2 to play never have I ever and I lost quicky. Then study hall to work on debates (failed) and create a 'want to make out with' list (attached). And I got laney's note (also attached) and tehn on the walk back there was this HUGE lightening across hartman green and we ran to schnader screaming.

Then to hall meeting and bed b/c quad was canceled b/c outrageous lightening.

Oh and during study hall break I talked to izzy and she had fun news too!

Realization day/Last activities; Monday July 30, 2007

Wake up, breakfast, talk w/Adam, etc. Then class where we continued to prepare our presentations (will and dave did almost no work while me, emily, marsha and noelle did a lot). Then lunch and I got mail! Sophie sent me a letter and it made me happy b/c I've never had unexpected mail before! Then lunch and presentations! We sucked (see attachments). And then break for activities.

I finally realized today before my last 1st activity forever that I'm a nomore and I legitimately started crying. Hell I'm almost crying now writing this. So then a good AI, a letter (love/secret admirer) writing where I had 32 cards (entire hall/class, some random RAs, professor+TA, brian (site director), random friends + gavin). Then more crying, dinner (peach cobbler and cheese squares).

And then we were hanging out and I finally got erika's pillowcase and then there was studyhall where instead of reading we played never have I ever. I learned a lot. Then quad where I signed up with Lee Anne and Nina for talent show (I'm holding the applause sign). Then big tree where we got yelled at by RAs for being 'too far from quad'; so we talked to adam roush, and john harrison and gavin had a ton of jokes that me and john's girl TOTALLY didn't understand. Oh well.

Then hall meeting, more crying, texting rachel, crying, bed, crying, and talking to people via more texting. Ahh drama.

Random Letter-ish thing during Presentations

Dear Sophie! Yay for letter! Sadly it was the only mail I got all camp (other than my dad sending me a dress for last dance). Oh well. So that dream was sorta amazing. I'd rather be a chaser than beater though =D. So we're sitting in a big room right now waiting for the computer science B (older) class to show up so that we can present our (group) 20 minute presentation on Searle's "Can Computer's Think" article. I personally really dislike him but everyone else here likes him. Oh well.

So I have a boyfriend at camp and he's super cute. Yea =D. Im sorta really sad camp is almost over. It's my last year! Half of my hall is nomores (can't come back) because I'm in the older class + hall. Oh well, umm...my roommate rocks and there's this chick Ellie who's SO ugly and gross and I hate her SOO much! (she's reading over my shoulders so I need to write this =D)

I finished Harry Potter and I almost cried too. Haha, the compsci people just walked in and humanities girls/boys are SO much more attractive! =D Wow, the professor just walked in and he's hagrid sized! And the TA for Philomind A (younger class) is super cool and he uses devils sticks and goes to burning man (like my dad) and knows the name of every country c. 1947. How cool is he =D.

Oh! I dyed my hair and its redish, more like red highlights so it looks a bit mahoganyish. Its fun. And my mom doesn't know (I warned my dad) but my grandfather is coming to pick me up and Im gonna have to try and stop crying which I won't be able to do. Yech, Im gonna be SUCH a mess. So how are youu =D. How is normal people land? Is it fun? Im gonna be in constant depressionmode as soon as I get back...Right, time to pay attention to compsci Neural networks.

So we just went up and half bombed. This kid named Cassidy was like drilling us on this article that we never read. IT was kinda mean + low blow. Whatever, not important (he was also like Ahbabababb ...I'm not done yet.)

HAHA the current group is using Half Life as an example for recent good AI in video games. Wow, this is hilarious. Yup, now they're on NBA live 08. God, this group keeps talking about the damn San Antonio Spurs!

Yech, ooh! Black + White! They mentioned it! Yay. This is fun because I recognize 1/2 of these games. Woo! Yay tamagatchi! Half life 2! Wow! Its funny because when world of warcraft was said izzy faked a wretch (like the noise when you throw up). I wonder what she'd say if she knew I played XD. I wanna tell iggie and talk to her about it, but even here its not that socially acceptable.

Whatever, I really should pay attention more but the girls in this group suck, they keep laughing and not knowing what they're talking about. wow, there's a game called Escape from Obesity"... She has this dumb idea of video games going to be emotional instead of violence, my ass.

Wake up, shower, breakfast, class where we talked about the dennett article I didn't read. Oh well, I still contributed, then lunch (no mail), and back to class where we finished dennett and went onto the continuation of those stupid presentations. When Cassidy went up, will asked a question and we all (philomind b) went "Ab pah pah pah pah I'm not done yet" (see attachment). Then during it I coped my letter to bill sealy (copy will be attached eventually).

Then to Student talent show (schedualish thing attached). The flutist was incredible, eliz rocked the star spangled banner, such a tiny girl but such a massive voice (christina aguilera-esque); jake was ok; missing you made me sad; rubiks cube ok; matrial arts was iffy; eye of the tiger for a capella was good, chelsea (1st solo) and meghan and eb (3rd solo) and dave and some other girl (4th solo) were good but the 2nd solo was iffy. Then Iris was bad dancing but a good song, only like me and another few people sang. Life of the party was okay, blobingos funny (arms in pant legs, looked interesting); blackbird good; gavins amazing, cedilla was like I think he's the best raver we've ever had in my years here. And he didnt chop off his own head with a glowstick (and had Max Wang videotape it).

Then to dinner, and then to atlee dubbs 3 where me + gavin burned the PDA pass by making out Directly infront of roush for like 3 min. Yay. I also found a poker chip there (attached) =D.

Then evening class (after scratching YK CTY 07 in one of the iron balcony bars). Class, we worked on the ethics bowl. Then hall meeting (turns out people played stoneface and I missed it!) and yea, bed, night!

The Last Quad Time/Quack; Wednesday August 1, 2007

Wake up, play w/red omish dolly (she has underware!, breakfast, have people sign my pants (They turned out SO hot, and relatively PG rated!) Then morning class where we prepared w/hisdisB for ethics bowl. I was working w/Iggie, a girl named Mingming, and Visqué, and then chelsea and izzy b. Then lunch, no mail (no shocker), and to ethics bowl! We were the last ones to present.

We did okay, but I felt sven's group did a far better job. So we finish and Brian (site director and one of three judges, other 2 were TAs) chose our debate to discuss (it was funny b/c before the actual debate he was like what team are you? So I said pro and he said that he put a little star next to the con side, so I stuck my tongue out at him, and then later right as I was about to debate, he stuck is tongue out at me and I started laughing) and we won! It was yayful.

So then to staff talent show where I held up the applause sign w/Iggie (who held up On Air sign). They (MCs lee ann + nina) were funny. As for acts, the 2 RA smeagle/gollum thing rocked, as did the heavy metal lullabye (little mermaid).

So then dinner, At sixish we had monk walk w/kathy leading and me being within front 10 people (probably like 7th or so). Then after I learned the blammo game was down to E.B. and Iggie. Then after I went to passing of the duck where at first we just did singalongs until exactly 6:30 (iris, mulan, rent, etc). Then we get ready, duck legend is read, and (no shocker), its MAX WANG! Im really happy for him, he so deserves it =D. Oh, and I also learned taht the 2nd and 3rd (or 3rd and 4th) duck bearers got married to eachother =D (how cute is that!)

Then study hall where we ate petit ecoliers, and read 2nd chapter of consciousness (I actually did it!) and did rock paper scissors for george's lanyard (sven won). Then quad time, last one, where technically we should have watched slide show but it wasn't loaded entirely so me and gavin wandered trees. As I was entering schnader, I started crying because I realized it'd be the last time I'd ever see the quad this way, with people just walking, normally. So I started crying, cried through hall meeting, and then some, and sang Hey Juliet, etc. I cried the sleepiness out. I also finished putting connectors onto bracelets (3 glow balls) and signed myself onto Max's Ultimate Contact List of Doom =D. So then changed in dark, talked to gavin + acid. Before the talent show Acid told me he lost his dance (last nomore dance) for yelling bad stuff at a tourguide and I got mad =D. Yea, night!

Last Dance; Friday* August 2, 2007

~actually thursday, but tradition says it was Friday b/c we had a dance on that day

Wake up, breakfast, did something I don't remember, class, went over consciousness and went to Jaxxman's (peach island oasis), discussed consciousness on 2nd floor of Jazzman's. Ate lunch (no mail), then more class where we were attached by the greek class (dianesian foliage!) and we attacked back. Then ti 'photo scavanger hunt'...except it was cancled. So we packed. Then we got dressed . I put on my duct tape dress and I wore my ugly CTY blue shirt and this ugly black square skirt to cover it up entirely.

So then we go to dinner (last supper!) it was in the back corner (on right) room. There was a table cloth and 3 cakes (THE , LAST, SUPPER; one was pied into frank wang) and this huge table (1 long one and a ton of smaller round ones). Then my seat was directly across from laney (yay).

So to sum it up, Jesus -> Noelle, Satan -> Vin, and while I was in the potty w/Breans I decided that I would pass on the dut tape dress to ellie (solves my problem). So then we go do canon outside (SO HOT) and then to class (6:30-8:30) t owatch GATACCA (yay!) So we watched it and ate ice cream (no spoon for me) and then I took off my clothes and broke all 500 glow bracelets.

I was so nervous about the dress! I had black heels, red fishnets, and duct tape dress. So we leave, get to dance, I drop the glowstick box (devoured w/in 60 seconds), dance. Everyone gave me funny looks or thumbs up (roush) or something. Then to slideshow where I went to thomas to get duct tape b/c dress 1/2 died. Then inside I talked to brian and acid and stuff. Then I covered it w/normal tape, went back to slideshow, and it ended, and I danced more. I cried during Stairway and a bit for American Pie. It was really cute, at the end of American Pie everyone threw their glowbracelets (or the 3 glowballs I made) into the center. Then after dance, after-dance. So I screamed all way everywhere but I'm out of tears to cry.

Now I'm at a sleepover w/Noelle, Izzy, Emilly, Brianna, and ellie while texting, like vin, to ask if he thinks its okay for me to apss dress.

wake up @~5:30, speeches. We had Alexa, then Jeff, Beans, Meghan, Laney, Cedilla, Juice, Charles, Me, Sven, Nixxi (made out w/ Maggie + pass on Bitch bra; made out w/me [said she <3s people and wants to make out w/them, made out w/me and then was like RAs are glaring]), Iggie, Bergit, Joana, Lexi, Kib, Kendall, Kayla, Molly, Adena, Brenda, missed someone, Ben, Acid, Lowell, Ilana, Harriet, Gage, Adam roush, missed again, Ariel, Gavin, more people.

My speech: Let me just say I was totally fine up to this point (charles played best day of our lives) and, um, I just saw these ants, in that crevese, by nixxi and Iggie. There was an ant, carrying another dead ant, and I dunno, I guess it was just sort of like CTY, heh, we're like dead ants, but I dunno, I guess its just because we always back each other up. No matter what you believe ,theres alyways someone to back you up, like Acids religion and even kib's groovism.

Meh screw it, I don't remember the rest. But I did pass my duct tape dress to ellie. At one point, eli poked me and said I didn't get anything and I told him he's big enough w/o a position and he'll be running AI and stuff.

So then speeches end, we listen to end of the tour, cried, hugged, and went to class. I think I get Dr. Uffy's white lanyard b/c I asked like the 1st day. So we do that post test, but dr uffy's 'review' was us going through the test and him giving us the answers =P.

Then we leave, and we go wandering. So I found laney, we went to caf for our last meal, had some pizza (pozza guy's own dough) and fries and my last apple juice (organic Minute Maid)-lemonade (minute maid) blend at CTY.

Then I pack some more, say more goodbyes, cry some more, go to closing ceremony where I almost cried a dozen times but never did. Then we listened to Brian's speech, all nomores stood up, etc. I gave Brian a hug and went on my sad way. So I said goodbyes, hugged Acid's adorable sister Ella, and talked to Dr. Uffy + George.

They said I was probably the #1 contributor in class, and suggested I do law, philosophy, or psychology. It was funny because mom = law, philo = deda vala, psych = dani. He suggested I double major philo and psych. Then I got Dr. uffy's white lanyard and saw max asking random satff members 'Hi randon staff member who I do not know, do you have an extra white lanyard?'. He ended up getting one off of John Harrison for the price of a free alcove shirt.

Then I gave max a goodbye hug, was about to leave, saw Brian and asked if the lanyards being white was actually a screw up, gave max another goodbye hug, saw erika on way to schnader, gave her a goodbye hug, and went to my room. Laney called me and she nervous that she missed everyone leaving so I told dad I had to go + he put all my stuff in the car as I comforted her and told her that CTY never REALLY ends. Then we were going to go to Weis to drop off my fob + keys.

So then we actually left, I cried in the car and talked to dad about how I dyed my hair and how I had a boyfriend and I read up to 2nd saturday in the car (except excluded parts about me + gavin). I also told him about my 'I am the grass" thing on July 25 and he told me I let go of my 'ego' and thats what Buddhist meditation aims to achieve and its pretty rare. I had difficulty explaining it, but I saw the universe and realized that I AM the universe, but also saw how small I am. I was touching the grass, and part of me felt what the grass felt. It could only happen at CTY b/c I was so void of worries and thoughts that I could eliminate my body out of my system.

We went to Burger King and I had a chicken sandwich and we continued. I cried, I got to Bailey, talked to deda vala (got perty jewelry), made a facebook reunion for like 1 week from today, went outside at night and cried more. Then I went to locust, fell asleep. I woke up ~1:30am because of the worst lightening storm ever. It was as if the US was under attack. Constant flashes of light and super loud thunder and hail. It was terrifying.

I came to CTY last year, and wow. I'm not sure if I was more confused or shocked. Confusion about what the hell was going and shocked about how many people wanted to introduce me to the traditions. I walked around for the first week saying "Hi! I'm Yulia! Who are you?". I did get to meet a ton of people that way. I made amazing friends on my hall, and my neighbouring halls. Rachel specifically introduced me to most of the traditions and I won't ever forget her for it. Then a year passed, and I'm back here. I lost so many never have I ever

Wake up ~11am, Ihops, look at ~10 facebook albums, talk to Max Wang. Talk to gavin on phone ~4 times, and facebook (man I miss him SO much, I saw him every day for 3 weeks and now hes gone). I'm slowly getting over it b/c I realize CTY will never end. There'll always be reunions and ways to talk to them. Its forever.

How are you =). SO I'm supposed to be reading Dennett's "True Beleivers' but instead I'm going to write to you! Thanks for being nice to us CTYers, we had a run-in with someone else in the philosophy department who I feel may have had a bad day. I really hope I put this into the right room, you were in it a few days ago packing so I'm assuming it's yours or you're just a REALLY smart mover.

So let's see, what to write about. I don't want to talk about philosohy because I'd rather you not have an opinion of me, or at least not a philosophical one. Let's see then. Well, I'm listening to VNV nation and E-Type right now. They're these really two nice technoish bands. VNV is better than E-Type, but its all good. If you like music with a good strong beat you'll like this. IT lets you out of your thoughts ,if only for a few minutes.

Speaking of thoughts, I really don't want to leave CTY. I'm 16 and a nomore, which means the same thing here. I don't know if you managed to get the general gist (sp?) of CTY through your brief interactions, but it really is one of the most amazing communities...ever. Its a bit like Burning Man if you've ever heard of that in the sense that we here are (mostly) a giving community. The people here are these incredible, smart, great people who you know for only 3 weeks but it feels like years. In a way, its a bit like leaving home for me, this IS my home.

You can be whatever you want here without anyone ever judging you. I personally feel as if I'm the real me here, while I'm a watered-down me at 'home'. Yea, I have friends there but CTY = life. The worst part about leaving is that it feels like you'll never be as free as this again. And let me tell you, that thought is terrifying.

I really should go back to Dennett. I hope you get this and don't think I'm a psycho, have a great life (don't tell my teacher), and yea. Friday is our last day, so bye I guess.

P.S. If you have kids under 16, SEND THEM HERE! Or tell your grandkids in however many years. This is life changing, this is love.

Harry Potter Tassles

I finally also have the Harry Potter tassles which they gave out on HP day taped into my journal. They're red and gold keychain tassles with 7-21-07 on them as if it was a graduation date.
