LAN
The Alcove is the most modern traditionalist group that can be found at Lancaster. It is the result of assorted evolutions and mergences between the LLRT, the Digiclan, and possibly the Eish. The Alcove is more dominant during second session, which is more tradition heavy.
Generally speaking, Alcovians are the ones who hold all the traditional positions at Lancaster, including the Duck, Jesus, and Satan among others. They are usually the first to run up to the speakers when a canon song is heard at a dance, and they are the ones who know all the traditions.
The Alcove always welcomes any newcomers, whether they are squirrels or nomores. However, some of the less traditional students resent the Alcove; this led to assorted disputes during LAN.06.1.
Alcovians also generally run Acting Improv, and are the originators of many inside jokes. The cast of the Rocky Horror Picture Show on Second Saturday is usually entirely Alcovian as well.
Recently, the Lore Keeper decided that every five years, the Alcove should receive an email that contains the entirety of the Nomore-Nomicon so that previous traditionalists could learn of all the going-ons and going-wrongs of the Alcove.
The Alcove, much like the LLRT, is also a specific dining room area. It is located in the far corner of the dining room in a small, rounded room. It is usually quite loud, and has actually been yelled at by RAs in 06.2 for failure to clean up and roudiness. It has odd-looking lights and a window out to the parking lot behind South Ben. It also has many food-based posters, which inspired the following inside joke:
ALL HAIL THE ISLAND COCONUT CHICKEN!!!
Science may be described as the art of systematic over-simplification. The Alcove (no longer in Exile) is located here.
