Sandy Spring was founded in 1961 when a local man of the town of Sandy Spring, Brook Moore, came up with the idea at a meeting and it grew interest. The school was started on a family farm and started as an Upper School. It expanded into a Middle School in 1980 and moved onto the campus in Sandy Spring in 1984. Some students became annoyed by this, especially as the other campers often made Ga-Ga-Ball difficult and received different food to us. At one point an 8 year old named Isaac from Sandy Springs won Ga-Ga-Ball, causing emotional chaos. Some students from 17.2 InDe (Inductive and Deductive reasoning) started the S.A.S.S (Society against Sandy Springs) and put Ga-Ga-Ball on their list of "things that could be improved," on their CTY experience questionnaires. | ||
