Bioethics first introduces students to some of the classical foundations of ethical reasoning; they examine the underpinnings of logical argumentation as well as philosophical methodologies. Next, students apply these philosophical frameworks to engage complex ethical dilemmas ranging from experimental drug trials to abortion for the purpose of avoiding genetic defects.
