He is also a medical doctor in Lancaster County. HDIS started as a college course Dr. Ted taught, until one summer when he decided to try to introduce it to CTY. It was notable for being both a science and humanities course and is extremely popular. Doctor Ted is notable for his use of cultural analysis which consisted of him showing clips of Disney movies (e.g., Little Mermaid, the rape scene in Mary Poppins) and finding the cultural stereotypes and innuendo in those movies.
