===Saratoga Emperor Visit===
On the last Wednesday of session 2 of the new Seattle site, 2012.1 Saratoga Emperor James Gan visited. While most of the students were squirrels, with the most lanyards any of the students had being 3, he made quite an impression. Wearing green, blue, 2 orange, 3 purple, 1 watermelon lanyards, as well as a Skidmore college lanyard flaunting his Skidmore ID card, he got many stares from the young students at SUN. After Lunch, he managed to find his former RA Lalo, from Saratoga, who was working as a TA for Electrical Engineering. They went to find other former Saratoga RA, David Grimes, who was working as the D.R.L. Lalo walked into his office saying "Hey David... I found this student walking around on the streets... What should we do with him" and then motioned for James to walk into the room. DGrimes stared for a while, and just said... "Do I know you? You aren't a student here, are you?" and James just burst out laughing. After a while of explanation, they were reminiscing over James' first session at Saratoga. Apparently, Lalo and DGrimes were practically alone with trying to bring some CTY culture (Making sure there was American Pie... Even love tape day), seeing as there were only a few other CTY veterans (1 or 2 CAR/LAN RA's and 2 or 3 CAR/LAN students).

On another occasion, a woman was out with her two dogs, one very small pitbull-looking thing and another that is unidentifiable by the author of this text. The unidentifiable one would apparently catch the frisbee if it was thrown until it collapsed. While it never did, it definitely came close. The pitbull-looking dog, while tiny, was incredibly good at soccer. The only way to get the ball past it would be to kick it over its head. Otherwise, it kept up an incredible defense, and the boys playing against it never found another way to get the ball past. This is saying something, because break was much longer than 20 minutes that day due to the two dogs. The ball used in the game ended up being shredded.

One day at 8:00 AM, RA Sofi's hall was clustered around her door, waiting for her to emerge from her room and take them all to breakfast. Since the night before, she had taken RA Genesis to the emergency room without telling her hall, some people thought she was dead and called the front desk to notify them of this. Others just stared at the door and hoped she was still alive. Elise Hsu from INBS got down on her knees and shoved a napkin under the door with the message, "We're outside :)"

She did a hurried headcount and started to bring her entire hall to breakfast, walking barefoot alongside them. But then someone asked, "Hey, where's Katherine?" Sofi had forgotten one of her kids all the way up on the 6th floor, and, having no key, could not go back up and get her. Meanwhile, Katherine Feng had emerged from her room and was looking up and down the hallway, wondering where everyone was.

Sofi decided she was not going to go all the way back there just yet. She made sure her hall got to breakfast and without even stepping into the dining hall (she said it was a health hazard), she talked to SRA Tiana and finally walked back to Campion with another one of her girls, who she had forgotten to bring up to the 7th floor for morning meds.

==="Bring on the roasted potatoes!"===

===Compliments===
This originated from a remixed video of Julia Child by PBS Digital Studios titled "Keep On Cooking" shown on Sophie Barth’s iPhone in the hallway. Most of Sofi’s hall thought it was hilarious that Julia Child sang “Bring on the roasted potatoes” in a weird voice multiple times throughout the video and began yelling it at each other to make their friends laugh. This phrase was screamed way too many times, usually by Elise when Sophie was found eating any kind of potato product at any time. At one point, Elise got mini roasted potatoes from the salad bar because she "just had to try them."
+
Elise decided one day at Casino Night to write compliments on napkins she had handy and distribute them to anyone she met. She ran out of napkins, then got her hands on a few wedding certificates from the marriage booth, tore them into strips, and wrote compliments on those. Then she ran out of them too. This triggered a series of napkin burglaries from the cafeteria. The most daring heist was the theft of 147 napkins. Plates were also stolen at the last dance and thrown at RA Sofi, who was co-deejay-ing and looking bored, and RA Kendall, who took the plates with her at the end of the dance. They were never seen again.

==="Are YOU in a GOOD MOOD?"===

This comes from Judy Cheng’s hoodie. Someone decided to read the words on it out loud during the last Talent Show practice and Sophie Barth and Elise Hsu quickly realized the awkwardness it could create if said correctly, especially if the person on the receiving end didn't really know them that well. It was then repeated incessantly until the end of the session and lived on through email. And then it died, because no one used it anymore.

===Directions to Idaho===
At Casino Night, it is recommended, even required, that CTYers who have gone broke to ask staff members what they can do to earn money. One RA decided to send a horde of CTYers after RA Kendall for directions to Idaho, her home state. A lot of yelping, jogging in high heels, and arm-waving from Kendall ensued. Though Kendall was staring at her phone the entire time she was being chased, she somehow managed not to trip and fall (which is really impressive). She probably had fun (there’s a picture of her smiling in the slideshow), but became tired of being chased by a screaming mob of teenagers. She eventually got rid of them by shrieking, “Leave me alone!”

While RA Kendall is evidently not okay with being chased for directions to Idaho, she is totally fine for being mobbed while she sings and dances to Frozen's Let It Go and will lead a massive horde of scream-singing teenagers around the room, smiling widely. However, these are not the only antics that occured during a particularly memorable rendition of the song. SRA Daniel also ran around wildly, and when he saw a CTYer filming him for her Snapchat story, he ran toward and stuck his face into her camera with a loud scream/whoop, causing her to screech in surprise and then giggle.

===The Wifi Drone and Car that Goes on Train Tracks===

===Testing Creations===
In EGRD.A, Paarth Dewan was evidently running out of ideas for the final project of the course because he suggested a wifi drone for poor/developing countries (they’d need devices first, and if it was a drone there’d be mobs of people chasing after it) and a car that’d go on train tracks (to help with traffic, but we’ve already got trains and they’d cause a lot of fatal accidents). Both of these ideas made no sense whatsoever and were ridiculed by everyone. Paarth eventually came up with the idea to make camouflage suits for soldiers based on how chameleons change their color depending on their surroundings. The instructor thought this idea was great.

The EGRD.A egg drop test was on the second floor of a parking garage, and it had the highest RA turnout of the entire session—the majority of, if not all, RAs watched. Paul's egg drop worked fine until it fell into the gutter and got stuck. An RA had to fish it out. Drew's ran into the wall and dropped the egg, which cracked. The yolk somehow remained intact, which the audience found amusing. Alvin's egg drop was a padded box. Paarth made what he called a "ski mechanism" out of balsa wood, which was supposed to make the egg drop slide smoothly to a stop. This didn't work; the egg drop flipped over and the ski mechanism was destroyed.
EGRD.A was full of boys who kept saying they wanted to be in a relationship with any of the three girls in the class. It got to a point where almost all the boys were subtly fighting over one girl.

The class also built boats, which were tested in a fountain. Many of the boys went into the fountain barefoot, which led to the instructor yelling things like, "Alvin! PUT YOUR SHOES BACK ON!" Paul was grudgingly allowed to stand on a rock near the center of the fountain and make sure the boats didn't run into obstacles or sink. The boats made it into the end-of-session slideshow.
In EGRD.B, Diego accidentally shot a large amount of hot glue onto Ines' leg. She now has a burn mark on her leg. It was not a happy day.

In 17.2, a Nike basketball camp invaded the top floors of Campion. While some of the participants were annoying, especially the younger ones, many made attempts to socialize and befriend CTYers. It was fun to go up in the elevator with them because they always looked flabbergasted and a little jealous to see RAs waiting for CTYers. However, unlike CTYers, the basketball girls were allowed to go in the elevator without being accompanied by a staff member.

Paarth Dewan and Drew insisted they were brothers, and the TA continuously tried to find holes in their story. Paarth then decided that Edward, a guy from Korea, was also his brother. They performed magic tricks together at the Talent Show. All these made-up siblings were supposedly adopted.

The last act of the Talent Show was by the Glee Club, which was run by RA Ryan and RA Sofi. RA Ryan got behind the big Seattle University banner onstage to do the introductory "doot doo doo doot doo doo doot doo"s and failed miserably, which made everyone laugh. The Glee Club itself, however, performed beautifully, and everyone got their phone flashlights out and started swaying them.

Saratoga Emperor Visit

On the last Wednesday of session 2 of the new Seattle site, 2012.1 Saratoga Emperor James Gan visited. While most of the students were squirrels, with the most lanyards any of the students had being 3, he made quite an impression. Wearing green, blue, 2 orange, 3 purple, and 1 watermelon lanyards, as well as a Skidmore college lanyard flaunting his Skidmore ID card, he received many stares from the younger students at SUN.

After lunch, he found his former RA, Lalo, from Saratoga, who was working as a TA for Electrical Engineering. They went to find other former Saratoga RA, David Grimes, who was working as the DRL.

Lalo walked into his office. "Hey, David... I found this student walking around on the streets. What should we do with him?" He motioned for James to walk into the room.

DGrimes stared. "Do I know you? You aren't a student here, are you?"

James burst out laughing.

After explanations, they reminisced about James' first session at Saratoga. Lalo and DGrimes were practically alone in trying to bring in CTY culture—making sure there was American Pie...even Love Tape day—seeing as there were only a few other CTY veterans (1 or 2 CAR/LAN RAs and 2 or 3 CAR/LAN students).

Lock-out

It should be known by every CTYer at this point to never take off their lanyard unless they're showering or sleeping, and even then that's debatable. And since RAs are always telling their kids to never take of said lanyards, you'd think that they would never forget it either. However, this is not always the case.

One day at 8:00 AM, RA Sofi's hall was clustered around her door, waiting for her to emerge from her room and take them all to breakfast. Since the night before, she had taken RA Genesis to the emergency room without telling her hall, some people thought she was dead and called the front desk to notify them. Others stared at the door and hoped she was still alive. Elise from INBS got down on her knees and shoved a napkin under the door with the message, "We're outside :)"

A minute later, Sofi emerged, barefoot, without her lanyard, and said, "Good morning, girls!" The door closed behind her. Sofi realized she was locked out.

She did a hurried headcount and started to bring her entire hall to breakfast, walking barefoot alongside them. Then someone asked, "Hey, where's Katherine?" Sofi had forgotten one of her kids all the way up on the 6th floor, and, having no key, could not go back up and get her. Meanwhile, Katherine had emerged from her room and was looking up and down the hallway, wondering where everyone was.

Sofi decided she was not going to go all the way back there yet. She made sure her hall got to breakfast and without even stepping into the dining hall (she said it was a health hazard), she talked to SRA Tiana and finally walked back to Campion with another one of her girls, who she had forgotten to bring up to the 7th floor for morning meds.

All this happened because she had slept through her alarm.

Compliments

Let It Go

While RA Kendall is not okay with being chased for directions to Idaho, she's fine with being mobbed while she sings and dances to Frozen's Let It Go and will lead a massive clump of scream-singing teenagers around the room. These are not the only antics that occurred during a memorable rendition of the song: SRA Daniel also ran around, and when he saw a student filming him, he ran toward her and stuck his face into her camera with a loud scream/whoop, causing her to screech in surprise and then giggle.
