Course Description

CTY’s Accelerated Math courses sharpen investigative skills, broaden mathematical understanding of concepts, and enhance reasoning skills. The Accelerated Grade 3 course covers topics typically found in a third grade curriculum and is aligned with Common Core Standards. The course starts with a review of topics taught in Accelerated Grade 2 Mathematics. Students are provided with ample practice, review problems, and activities. Online interactives in this course are provided by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Concepts are assessed through challenging homework assignments, quizzes, module tests, and cumulative exams. With the guidance of their instructors, students gain a solid foundation and mastery of math concepts at each level. This course provides a solid foundation of Grade 3 Mathematics and prepares students for success in Honors Grade 4 Mathematics.
