Mao is a card game. The first rule of Mao is "You can't discuss the rules of Mao." It is up to players to figure them out.
Some people consider it proper to tell new players that the object of the game is to get rid of all cards; others feel it is okay to tell them the general idea of how to play cards.
rules vary, the rules are stated by the chairman/mao/dictator at the beginning of the game. I play with the baby cty chestertown rules which are used by all the baby cty-ers who played mao at that sight.
