I'm not sure this is article-worthy, but if somebody thinks it is, move it there:
PCTYD uses the format {Site Code}.{Year}.{Session}.{Course Code}.{Optional Section Letter} because I felt that on a forum whose main purposes include connecting CTYers from different parts of the country, the sites and years a person attended are probably more relevant than the classes they took.
