Revision as of 13:18, 9 August 2006
Gathered from http://members.tripod.com/ctymembers/comments_frm.htm
- Flashlight- beware... forbidden in lancaster and carlisle
- Duct tape
- Masking tape (SAR)
- Snacks -- but no peanuts at Lancaster!
- Poster(s)(and post-its telling people not to make out with it if it features a hot guy)
- Extra laundry supplies and dryer sheets (to lend to others)
- Water bottle
- Permanent marker (for tee-shirt signing the last day)
- School yearbook and/or pictures of family and friends
- Deck of cards
- Landline phone (even if bringing a cell phone)- calling within campus = fun.
- Black tray for Never-more signing.(Silver Sharpie needed)
- Boys at Siena: make sure you bring a fan. Ryan Hall is: #1, cramped and #2, non air conditioned and it can get pretty hot in New York. Girls at Siena should also bring fans and give them to the boys, some of whom are certain to have forgotten to bring one. Same goes for Skidmore and LMU. In fact you'll be worshipped by guys in LMU if you lend them fans for their rooms.
- Glowsticks
- Umbrella (but only if it pops out when you push the button.)
- Sidewalk chalk (CAR especially.)
- Rubik's Cube
- Boys at Carlisle, bring energy drinks. Soon they'll prohibit buying them at the Devil's Den due to Chris White's hall in Session 1 of '05 and Matt's hall in Session 1 '06. We found our ways around the rules. Especially right after check in at 10. STOP DRINKING ENERGY DRINKS RIGHT BEFORE BED!!!
- iPod and speakers. They'll make you popular on your hall.
- Pack of cards, poker chips and/or extra laundry money.
- JUNK food!!!!!
A note from a friendly staffer:
If you have somehow managed to acquire a staff lanyard, congrats on your mad skills of lanyard steal-age, but leave it at home! There is a significant chance that if a staffer sees it, they will confiscate it.
Some other ideas from the parent of a second-year attending Lancaster:
- Clothes for "Halloween"
- Bathrobe to wear on Thursday (the day the world ends in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)
- Treats and snacks at Lancaster cannot contain peanuts (this includes candies that do not contain peanuts directly, but may have a peanut warning on the package)
- Frisbee (also a good idea at Siena)
- Assortment of hats
- Wings
[EDIT: I removed the bits about bringing flashy clothes just for drag day... Boys, ask the girls in your class for clothes. They won't bite, and, chances are, they've had all of their vaccinations.]
