I'm pretty sure an alumni organization existed a while back as well, but it became defunct, much like the CTY student listings by year webpage, the Alcove message boards, and the official CTY-L (which is rarely very active).  RealCTY still survives, because it's not just a source for contact, it's also a source for information.  The people who want to stay in touch with each other will want to stay in touch with the happenings at CTY, and vice versa.  I still feel that the website is a good way to keep CTYers together.  Besides, it's consistent.  I, for example, don't have a LiveJournal.  Some people don't have gmail, making a Google Group hard to use; some don't have Myspaces, where there are different groups, and some people had their email spelled wrong on the UCLDOOM.  However, pretty much everyone can use the Internet (at least if they have any of that other stuff).  --[[User:Memoriesonfilm|Max W.]] 20:37, 9 September 2006 (MST)

In addition, anything too official would have to be administration supervised, and that wouldn't be such a great thing, especially for those of us who want to be staff members (like meeeee!).  Also, if I do pass down the position of videographer, I might as well appoint a single new admin every year, and designate him/her as the primary administrator (basically meaning that they need to supervise the site a lot).  It's not difficult to keep RealCTY running.

Don't categorize userpages. -Max W.

Can you catagorize people in general?

Zeke has a category because, aside from being a person, he's also an inside joke. People, whether users or just student pages, should be left uncategorized.

Will do then

Hm? Zeke already has a category.

No I mean wont catagorize people

There's nothing wrong with the first person for talk pages, or userpages. I just thought it was odd that you pretended you were Christ... I still do...

Yea but the stuff I said had at least a nice feel to it, yours just sounded sort of mean :\

And calling me a wikinazi isn't? Can you really blame me for bringing back logins, and then trying to keep the quality of the site up? I know I've been cracking down on people a bit to be careful with their edits, but then again, we don't really need pages like FNORD, albeit that's an exaggeration.

Im so not getting dragged into this.

--Max W. 20:37, 9 September 2006 (MST)
