Site Description
From the CTY Summer Catalog:
Since 1967, The Nueva School has taught gifted and high-ability students to learn by doing and learn by caring. The Hillsborough campus serves students in pre-K through grade 8 during the year. Built on principles of environmental sustainability, the facility was designed specifically to support Nueva's integrated, multidisciplinary curriculum. The campus includes science labs, a gymnasium, a library, a media lab, an Innovation Lab, two playgrounds, a track and sports field, a garden, and a cafeteria.
Classes meet Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Before- and after-program care is available at an additional cost. Students should expect to do between 30 and 60 minutes of homework each weeknight. Approximately 180 students and 50 staff are expected to attend each session.
The Hillsborough campus is located in a residential neighborhood in San Mateo County. It is accessible by car from Highway 280, as well as El Camino Real.
Note: The Hillsborough campus is a different location than last year’s program at Nueva. It is not accessible by Caltrain.
