Existentialism
One of the most difficult classes to get into, as it is one of the most heavily applied-for. Existentialism tends to attract many of the weirder and more interesting people at many sites, because of its total inapplicability to any high-school curriculum. No one takes this course because their parents make them. Students are dedicated to fierce debate about abstract theories, trying to figure out what existentialism actually is without admitting they don't know, and Dostoevsky-worshipping (because he is, after all, the man). Reading may include Kant, Nietzsche, Sartre, Dostoevsky, Beckett, Heidegger, and a smattering of the rest. Really often an intro to philosophy course disguised as an existentialism course.
