Classes
- Crafting The Essay- JHU 06.1, Instructor: Angela Balcita, TA: Kim
It was actually enjoyable. The Baltimore site is known everywhere else as being the worst. Perhaps it is, but still, it's CTY, so it can't get that bad. I was a squirrel, so the lack of tradition didn't kill me. Crafting the Essay was amazingly fun: the class is centered on creative non-fiction (i.e., Memoir).
- The Critical Essay: Popular Culture- LAN 07.2, Instructor: Mike, TA: Lauren
Lancaster was overall, also amazingly fun. (duh!) I was a little confused by the tradition at first, but adjusted right away. The class is really fun, although it could've been better with a different instructor. We got to watch movies (Napoleon Dynamite), TV Shows (The Office, My Super Sweet 16), and commercials, and then semiotically analyze them. There's a lot of writing which really killed me, but whatever.
P.S. Sometimes, we can't help but be sexy!
Miscellaneous
- 06.1 - I was part of the Treehuggers. We hugged trees and appreciate nature.
- 07.2 - My hall (3rd South Schnader) formed a cult on Halloween. We were branded with "dork marks", worshiped the "dork lord", and called ourselves the Fatal Injury Eaters (FIE). (see below for picture)
- 07.2 - I am among the handful of people who did not contract any disease while at CTY (and I lived in Schnader!) However, I did have a horrendously bad cold when I got home.
