Fish Stark

About Fish

Fish lives in Annapolis and goes to The Key School, along with CTY attendees Natalie Belkov and Marlee Fox. His father is Congressman Pete Stark. Fish did day camp CTY 2nd-4th grade, baby CTY 5th-6th grade, and in 2008, the year after seventh grade, spent his first summer at Dickinson, where he fell in love with the campus and the HUB potatoes. He is a writer and has taken creative writing classes for years at CTY. View his writing fan page here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fish-Stark/36073981907?ref=ts

CAR 08.2

At Carlisle's second session, 2008, Fish:

Was on Andrew's hall with Angus (roommate, Intro to Creative Writing), Ben (INCW), Vincent (INCW), Gonzalo (Existentialism, left early), Allen (EX), Patrick (Cryptology), Kevin (Crypt), Garret (Crypt), Dane (Crypt), TJ (Crypt), Max (Crypt), Louis (Crypt), and Stowe (Crypt).

Was in Introduction to Creative Writing, taught by Mike Dockins (A poet who formerly taught Crafting the Essay) and TAd by Saskia Cornes. In it were girls from Natasha's hall: Amalia (one of the Forceful Four ((see: Cult of Godzilla))), Becca (who he developed a crush on, asked to dance at several CTY dances and dated for a few moths afterwards). Avery, Kris, Olivia, Amy, Emily, Caitlin, and Marie.

Hung out with The Forceful Four often, and got into both verbal and physical fights with GW because of their differing political views (Fish=democrat, GW=idiot).

Participated in a one-minute reenactment of The Little Mermaid as his Passionfruit initiation.

Was noted for his contributions to poetry night, including the call "Poetry night! Quad seven! Not as bad/nerdy as it sounds!" He read a short poem about ADHD medication entitled Focus, and is possibly more well-known for his much longer poem "How Cheney Stole Christmas" that was praised except for the fact that it took ten minutes and left a lot of would-be readers still in line by the time Meet Market was over. Again, SORRY!! Both of these poems can be viewed on his Fan Page.

MC'd the talent show after a strong audition in which he used a joke about ballerina buns that Max's hall would use later in their skit about the rinas. He cracked numerous jokes, a few were hits but many admittedly were misses, especially running gag where he tried to, a la Stephen Colbert, sell the sponsorship of the talent show to various companies. This generally fell flat and was mocked by the other host, Jeff Herr.

Dressed up for Drag Day in a miniskirt and pink shirt. Photos are available on Facebook.

Was terrified of the fire drill.

Was introduced to the wonderful world of fantasy football by Kevin Hardaman.

Dated Rebecca Cerasoli. They continued their relationship outside of CTY and mutually separated in April 2009.

CAR 09.2

He never got the swine flu. So HA.

He was on Christian's hall, on the third floor of quad one. He shared it with Arthur Schechter, Ean Marshall, Connor Groat, Tom Zhou, Teddy Spelman, Isaac Lapides, and Gary Minassian (all in film) and Burk Loeliger, Josh or Tristan someone, Ritesh something, Jonathan somethin, Brian Shuie, and Ryo something (all in physics).

He was in Critical Essay: Film, taught by Timross and TAd by Meredith Slifkin, as well as Nate Antiel for a brief period of time when Meredith caught swine flu. In addition to the previously mentioned filmies on his hall, his class contained Jackie Wang, Khaki Frost, Xuewei Ouyang, Isabella Rosner, Marie Sterba, Caroline Ellison, and Marissa Lilly. He and Marissa fell in love and twirled each other at dances. Due to living 2500 miles away from each other and thus not being able to continue a relationship, they parted amicably in September 2009 and remain very close.

He MCd the talent show and did no longer attempted to 'sell the show', improving his comedy skills by a wide margin, according to to many. He was a hit with the audience, but drew a lot of fire from some RAs for his slightly offensive political humor. A known Republican, working on tech, cut his mike in the middle of a Sarah Palin joke. REAL MATURE.

He wrote some material for and was an understudy for Adam in the movie Zombination, which he would like to know where to find.

He read at every poetry night, and none of his poems were exceedingly long, a la How Cheney Stole Christmas. They included the hit "The American Essay and its Role in Education".

He did drag day, wearing a blue skirt with white polka dots and a wife-beater tank top.

He had even more fun than the year before.

He loves CTY and he loves the Passionfruit.

A memoir he wrote chronicling his CTY experience that year is available on the internet at this link: http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2791474/1/CTYA_True_Story_of_Life_and_Love_at_Nerd_Camp

CAR 10.2

Fish was on Dave's hall. He took Ethics, and was supposed to take it with all his friends, but it ended up being over-enrolled and was split into two courses, Ethics A and Ethics B. Being three weeks away from his fifteenth birthday, he was stuck in Ethics A, while his friends were in Ethics B. This was annoying.

In his class were Sebastian, Andrew Kim, Reishi, Julie Chen, Regina LoBiondo, Annarose Klinger, Rebecca "Moose" Trickey, Michaela, Seeyun (is that how you spell it?), and Talia Charme-zane.

He roomed with the philosophy of mind guys--William "Bronzky" Trotman, Adam Ladhani, Colin Donnely, Dane Jennings, Nathan Rothstein, Peter, Morgan, William Mackay, and the appointed emperor Patrick Kennedy. He, Dane, and Nathan hung out a lot and were known to themselves as the Triumverate. This was soon extended to Bronzky and the Triumverate, and then Bronzky, Adam, and the Triumverate.

He was also, much to the chagrin of the RAs, good friends with Kyj, and a member of what was known as "the couples' couch", made up mostly of couples from Ethics B, as well as Fish, Kyj, Brandon, Cheryl, Nathan, Avery, Dane, and some others.

He MCd the talent show for the third year in a row. A conservative evangelical RA was rumored to be perturbed by his Glenn Beck sketch--however, it drew laughs and applause, as did his continual skewerings of Justin Bieber and Sarah Palin. And, of course, his customary sketch where he appeared on the piano in a dress. He also led the crowd in not one, but two, renditions of the "Sexual Harassment Panda" song.

He wore skinny jeans and a girly orange Hollister top for Drag Day, and went around singing "Milkshake" all day.

He and Nathan Rothstein formed a traveling duet show on Casino night and made a lot of money. Their songs included "American Pie", "Build Me Up Buttercup", and "Stacey's Mom".

He went out with Teresa Zarmer of TCE:FILM, and when that didn't work out, Sarah Williams of Ethics B. They were part of the couples' couch.

He loves CTY and he loves the passionfruit.
