My Letter to CTY (Skidmore4Lif)

Dear CTY,

It's been a couple of months since my CTY experience. A number of things could be said about my time at Skidmore Session 1, 2017. Life-changing, intriguing, inspiring. All those words come to mind. But above all, CTY was the most amazing time that I've ever had.

The first day of CTY, my parents dropped me off at my dorm (Rounds) and kissed me goodbye. Now I was alone in a place where I knew nobody. For the first hall meeting, I just kinda sat quietly in the corner of the room and scoped out everyone and applied a label. Jock, nerd, bully and such. I quickly found out that first impressions are often wrong. Everybody was extremely kind to me and I felt accepted and welcomed.

The things that I love most about CTY is that this is where you can be yourself. CTY has the most accepting community of any camp I ever went to. What CTY has instilled in me is a sense of purpose, of passion. And for that I want to thank you all.
