The Art of Writing: Process and Product
The Art of Writing: Process and Product (WRTP) was a Baby CTY writing course that focused not only on group discussion, but also went into printed works and other items. It was only offered at Chestertown.
Course Description
From the CTY Course Catalog (1996):
Students in this course develop their writing and revising skills in a workshop format. Reading and writing assignments include a variety of genres, from essays and editorials to poems and short stories. Students receive detailed feedback on their writing from the instructor and peers. In addition, students attend workshops at a small, hands-on printing museum at Washington College. In these workshops, students explore the history of print and print culture. In addition, by producing a printed piece of their own, students experiment with graphic design, typesetting, the printing process, and binding. Because instruction is geared to the individual skill level and course background of the students, this course is equally appropriate for students who have taken other CTY writing courses and for those who have not.
