Drag Day is a day when people cross-dress. Generally, it is the most-participated in day of all dress-up days. Often, the night before, during Meet Market, a guy and a girl exchange clothing. The next day, they put on the clothing of the opposite sex and strut their stuff while some of the ballerinas secretly take pictures. Always occurs on the second Tuesday of the session... which also seems to coincide with college tour days. Coincidence? I think... maybe.

Actually, drag day happens at other places besides Carlisle. Not sure about other campusses, but at Lancaster it happens on second Saturday, so it's not *always* on the second Tuesday--just at Carlisle.

The origins of drag day:

At Carlisle one year, it was known that Sound of America (a patriotic singing group who sung overly-patriotic songs in Europe) was coming on the second Tuesday of first session. Everyone dressed in drag to scare the Sound of America people. It was succesful, and though no more singing groups have decended upon CTY, Drag Day is still carried out with great enthusiasm.
