Etymologies
Amazing class, especially at Lancaster and Carlisle. A knowledge of Latin (and Greek) will be extremely useful to someone taking this course, as much of the course involves Latin word roots (and Greek word roots).
Remember, always dance to The Adventure of English soundtrack. Beware the The Adventure of English movies, they talk almost directly out of the book you'll be reading, and are extremely boring, though they do feature awesome theme music.
Be prepared. In the class, you will need 500-700 flash cards, but the class is fun.
PARSE THIS!! (Humbi)

Huh? Emily? (seeing as you're the only one who spells my "name" with an i at the end) or Amy or Sam... Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

2006
Session 1, 2006 Teacher: Lizzie TA: Rosie Rosie had a rep in our class for using CTY innapropriate a lot. We "invented" the phrase CTYI until we found out that that was already in use. Great minds think alike. Oh well. Bad things were written about Rosie in the reviews, one person going as far as to say that she should "take the stick out of her ass and get laid." In 06.1, three different courses are done in three days. One day we did Etymologies, then the next Existentialism, then Geopolitics.
For Everyone in ETYM_LAN_06_2, we all know that Joe Groves is and always will be the coolest T.A. that ever lived. none of us will ever foerget the clown joke, or Cinna the Poet. (I'm Cinna The Poet!)
