[[IAAY]] (Institute for the Academic Advancement of Youth) is a now-defunct umbrella association that encompassed [[CTY]], [[CAA]], [http://cty.jhu.edu/set/index.html Study of Exceptional Talent (SET)], and other similar programs run by Johns Hopkins University and directed at academically talented youth. The acronym was emblazoned on shirts and [[lanyard | lanyards]] from the mid-1990s until around 2000, when the umbrella organization was disbanded. Johns Hopkins now does most of its fundraising, including fundraising for non-CTY programs like CAA, under the CTY name.

IAAY (Institute for the Academic Advancement of Youth) was a name used by CTY in the 1990s to describe the organization as a whole, encompassing CTY, CAA, Study of Exceptional Talent (SET), etc. The acronym was emblazoned on shirts and lanyards. Eventually wiser heads realized that good old "CTY" is a better recognized name, and reverted back to that.

Students who attended CTY during the IAAY days tended to pronounce "IAAY" as "Eeee-ahhhh-eeee."
