IAAY (Institute for the Academic Advancement of Youth) is a now-defunct umbrella association that encompassed CTY, CAA, Study of Exceptional Talent (SET), and other similar programs run by Johns Hopkins University and directed at academically talented youth. The acronym was emblazoned on shirts and lanyards from the mid-1990s until around 2000, when the umbrella organization was disbanded. Johns Hopkins now does most of its fundraising, including fundraising for non-CTY programs like CAA, under the CTY name.

Students who attended CTY during the IAAY days tended to pronounce "IAAY" as "Eeee-ahhhhhhhhhh-eeeee."
