Honors Algebra I is a CTY Online course for students who have qualifying scores in math from the SCAT or SAT and have completed Pre-Algebra or equivalent. The course takes 6 months if session based and its course code is AL1. Students choosing to do this course Individually paced may choose to complete it in 3,6 or 9 months. This course is recommended for grades 6-9, although may (and isn't uncommon to) be taken earlier than this.
Many students taking Algebra I will do so to complete CTY summer programs, as Algebra I is a pre-requisite for many courses. Additionally, most who do Algebra I will expand their learning by completing Algebra II, another common pre-requisite for CTY summer programs.
