About Me
Hey everyone! I'm Mandy, or Amanda, or whatever you want to call me as long as it's not something vulgar.
I'm a Forevermore who was best known for wearing fedoras, being awkward, sleeping through Passionfruit, and not being there at all during 2015 because I was busy recovering from surgery on my spine. I'm now a freshman at Vassar College and I still have a terrible sleep schedule.
Also, as you'll see below, I took nothing but writing classes at CTY. I still write, mostly poetry and science fiction, and I like to think of myself as the lovechild of Octavia Butler and Heidi Wong because of course I do.
Courses

A Few CTY Memories
I grew up so sheltered that I'd never heard the word "orgy" before I got to CTY. That was A Moment.
The Hipsters vs. Lumberjacks dance of 14.1 was the ultimate chaotic gathering and the highlight of my summer. I also took the BDSM test for the first time during that dance, just to see what my virgin self would get.
I went to middle school with Sophia Hager (aka Elphie) and I was extremely surprised when I saw her at LAN 16.2 because I somehow had never seen her at LAN 14.1 and had no idea she was a CTYer.
I also lived through the 16.2 outbreak of the Schnades, as well as the loss and recovery of the Duck.
What I'm Doing Now
At this moment, I'm sitting in my room, being a good citizen and practicing social distancing because of COVID-19. Over the past few years, however, I've graduated high school, gotten my work published in various local journals, attended the Iowa Young Writers Studio, interned for NASA, gotten a job at Vassar's observatory, lost a parent, made friends, lost friends, and had a lot of PCTYD.
I've also watched nearly every single video that Brian David Gilbert has ever made.
