Selected Topics in Advanced Chemistry (ACHM) was a CTY Science course, very similar to Selected Topics in Advanced Biology, in that it was an AP type course. Students must have completed Fast Paced High School Chemistry to participate. It was only offered at Lancaster.

This demanding course includes material ordinarily encountered in a first-year college chemistry class. The course covers selected topics from the Advanced Placement (AP) Chemistry syllabus provided by The College Board. A substantial portion (but not all) of that syllabus is considered. The daily schedule typically includes three hours of class and two hours or more of lab work. Laboratory exercises typically include qualitative analysis of cations and anions, equilibrium constants and their applications, Faraday's law of electrolysis, and standard electrode potentials and their use.
