Course Description
From the CTY Course Catalog (1997):
This course continues the development of the language skills introduced in French 1. It covers material usually included in the second year of a high school French course or the second semester of college French. The course is designed to enhance the students' French grammar and conversational skills. Instruction is conducted in French. Students develop their skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing through a variety of classroom activities. Classroom discussions based on videos, newspaper articles, poems, and songs expose students to a wide vocabulary. Students are expected to memorize large amounts of material in a short time. Before the start of the session, students should review the chapters they covered in French 1. CTY strongly recommends that students take this course immediately following a French 1 course taken during the 1995-96 academic year or in the first session at CTY.
