Course Description
In this class, students learn to write essays through analyzing gifted people and characters in the media. The class starts by talking about the stereotypes and "types" of gifted people, moves to analyzing real-world studies about them, and ends by writing an essay on everything learned within the three weeks of the course. Other topics include watching/analyzing The Incredibles, and talking about gifted people with mental health issues such as John Nash.
Class History
GEEK.CAR.15.2 was instructed by Dr. Dockins and TA'ed by Ceci. They were both huge nerds, which means that the whole class was "nerds teaching nerds how to write about nerds". Dockins cared a lot about the class, and Ceci wore a fandom shirt almost every day. When the class watched The Incredibles, everyone immediately become infatuated with it. Countless references to the movie were made during the session, and when the Pixar dance came along, almost all of the geeks donned their best Incredibles costume.
The girls shared a hall with Genetics A (under the awesome rule of RA Becca), and the guys shared one with Computer Science (with RA Eli).
Although the class contained geeks of all ages, it was an amazing session and an extraordinary experience.
