Course Description
Existentialism is an introduction to the philosophy concerning existence and the meaning of life. It is often merely an introductory philosophy course because of the general lack of background in philosophy. Students are dedicated to fierce debate about abstract theories and trying to figure out what existentialism actually is without admitting they don't know. Readings may include Kant, Nietzsche, Sartre, Kierkegaard, Camus, Dostoevsky, Beckett, Heidegger, and a smattering of the rest.
