Music Theory is a Humanities course with no prerequisites. Its course code is MUST, and it is offered only at Carlisle.
Course Description (CAR)
Music Theory is the approximation of a high school theory course in preparation for the AP Music Theory test. The prerequisites are some of the lowest for any course (knowing treble and bass clefs), but the class always contains many musical prodigies. It covers concepts such as secondary dominants, four-part voice leading, and composition. During the last week of camp, students have to compose or arrange a piece showing what they have learned. Many Music Theory students enjoy participating in the CTY talent show, and showing off their musical skills.
Class History
Music Theory at CAR has been instructed by Dan Shaw and TA'd by Taylor Johnson for the past three years (as of CAR.1.08).
