Oceanography: The Hawaiian Pacific is a Science course in the CTY program with no prerequisites. Its course code is OCEN (or MARI?), and it is offered only at Hawaii.
Class Description
Oceanography is specific to the Kaneohe site. Students learn about physical, chemical, and biological aspects of the ocean in the Hawaiian islands. Classes are often run through debates. There are numerous possible dissections, such as dogfish, squid, blue crab, or shark. A field trip is taken to the nearby Oceanography Institute, which is often decried by students as boring and uninteresting.
