Topics include a history of psychology and the evolution of the modern scientific approach to the discipline; research methods and statistics; the brain, nervous systems and behavior; theories of personality; learning and memory; sensation and perception; psychological measurement and testing; physical and cognitive development; and social behaviors and influences. Class projects and activities are included as a means of reinforcing the concepts encountered in class and introducing students to experimental design and interpretation.
