Course Description
Existentialism is an introduction to the philosophy concerning existence and the meaning of life. It is often merely an introductory philosophy course because of the general lack of background in philosophy. Students are dedicated to fierce debate about abstract theories and trying to figure out what existentialism actually is without admitting they don't know. Readings may include Kant, Nietzsche, Sartre, Kierkegaard, Camus, Dostoevsky, Beckett, Heidegger, and a smattering of the rest.

Maureen! EXIT.CAR.09.2
Tim! EXIT.B.CAR.10.1. The EXIT.B.CAR.10.1 consisted of many nevermores, particularly most of the royalty, but not Bobby, who was too young and relegated to EXIT.A. Maureen's visa was denied at the border, so Tim, the TA, stepped in as the instructor days before class began. Tim was ever lovable and vastly knowledgeable. Highlights included an uncomfortable re-enactment of Sartre's No-Exit, ubermensch illustrations, the birth of the soon omnipresent LOL JK jokes, the supremely bizarre Seventh Seal, the equally supremely bizarre spontaneous dance number in the other film, and vastly distracting yet idyllic study halls held in red Adirondack chairs, accompanied by vast amounts of reading. A shout-out from TA Jake's radio show, Heartcasts, was a particular high point when struggling with Heidegger.

Karl! EXIT.CAR.19.2 Famously, we finally got to Sartre in the last hour of class time, to no fault of instructor Karl or TA Cody. We were just dummy stupid. Thanks to the presence of two theater kids Braden and Bailey, the class was particularly musical, complete with a song with harmonies for our TA and entertaining singing sections in Faust. We will always treasure the venomous caterpillars that sought out Evelyn during every break, our truth melons, study halls in Longsdorff, @/besthallnichememes, and reading Schopenhauer on Goth Day.
