Course Description
From the CTY Course Catalog (1996):
This challenging course introduces material typically found in college biology and biochemistry courses. Topics include DNA replication, enzyme kinetics, and molecular developmental biology. A substantial amount of biochemistry course work is considered, with an emphasis on reading reports on university research and presenting synopses of these reports. Laboratory exercises emphasize current molecular biological techniques and gel electrophoresis. Selected Topics in Advanced Biology is designed to help students explore biological subjects at a level not ordinarily available in high school. This course focuses on biochemical topics and is not designed as a preparation for the Advanced Placement (AP) Biology test provided by The College Board.
